Mallen as a speaker

Approaches
Mallen's speaking style is energetic and interactive, and focuses on general principles and lessons drawing from compelling stories. He focuses on some of the most interesting, and often controversial, issues. In addition, he can do lecture style or structured training, workshops with senior management teams to review specific areas of interest, and so on.
Perspective
Mallen is pro-business, pro-responsibility, and believes that corporate social responsibility is about how the company shows responsibility in how it makes its money - it is not about philanthropy. It should be strategic and clear-sighted, understanding the new expectations on business but not falling for some of the more 'wishful-thinking' style of business case argument often used. The issues covered by CSR often go to the heart of what makes a business successful, and it starts with the assumption that the first - but not only - responsibility of a company is to be profitable.
On the marketing side, CSR jargon is the barrier that prevents marketers seeing the immense value to be gained by seeking to understand customers in a different way, and focusing on the principle precondition of marketing, establishing trust.
