Philips Electric sued for alleged employee exposure to toxins
A News item from Business Respect, Issue Number 20, dated 29 Dec 2001
Nearly 800 employees at a factory owned by Philips Electric Co. have filed a suit against the company suggesting that its executives knowingly allowed the exposure of workers to toxic chemicals.
The suit argues that many of the workers have become sickened as a result, with some dying.
The conditions are said to have led to high death rates from cancer, leukaemia, lung diseases and other ailments associated with toxins such as mercury and arsenic.
